The primary purpose of the position is to provide overall planning, administration, organization, and facilitation of all Senior Services Wellness programs. As well as supporting the daily operations of the Friendship Centre and Community Wellness Programs. This position supervises the work of volunteers and contracted program instructors to provide quality, affordance opportunities for all.

Responsibilities
•Coordinate and supervises the effective delivery of the Senior Services Wellness Programs.
•Assess community programming needs, identify risk associated with services and implement procedures to mitigate associated risk.
•Use software to book facilities for programs, to set enter program registration such as program details and fees.
•Promote individual programs through various sources including, word of mouth, social media, email communication and coordinates with communications any media or advertising needs.
•Provide direct and in-direct delivery of a variety of recreation, social leisure, and community wellness programs in person and virtual, both onsite in the Friendship Centre onsite and offsite at various programming locations.
•Support the Friendship Centre membership program, assisting with promotion and recruitment and retention of the membership
•Regularly facilitate volunteer trainings to ensure all programs meet the Seniors Fitness Instructors Certification guidelines
•Recruit, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate volunteers and contracted program facilitators to provide/support direct programming
Qualifications
•2-year college diploma in recreation Leadership or Fitness & Health Promotion, or a related health services field
•2 years’ experience working in a recreation/fitness setting with seniors and/or people with varying abilities
•Experience working with volunteers and high-risk participants
•Senior Fitness Instructor Certification or equivalent certification with a focus on older adults
•Personal Training Certification
•Knowledge of injury prevention techniques and strategies
•Standard First Aid/CPR Level C with AED
•Safe Food Handling Certification
•Valid G Driver’s License
